Vladislav Lalić, Regional Property & Expansion Manager, South East Europe
Vladislav Lalic started his long career in company ‘’IKEA’’ in Yugoslavia in 1991, immediately after graduation. His successful career within a single company that operates on a global scale represents a rare example in today's business world.
Since the company's plans in the region already stopped in 1992 due to political crisis in former Yugoslavia, he continued his career in Slovenia and then in Romania, where he spent the next six years in various positions in procurement and developing a network of suppliers within ‘’IKEA’’ company.
During 1998, he took over the position of Purchase Manager for Turkey. After that in 2001, he was appointed Regional Purchase Manager for Turkey, Greece, Egypt, the Middle East and Central Asia, where he set the foundation for further business development of the company "IKEA" in the region, whose business today exceeds half a billion Euros.
Beginning 2006, Vladislav took over the position of Regional Purchase Manager for Southwest Europe, which included responsibility for Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium and Great Britain. With complete responsibility for strategy and procurement process in the region, he managed Greenfield investment of company "IKEA" in the construction of two plants for the production of furniture in Portugal with total investment value of over 100 million Euros.
After the company "IKEA" made a strategic decision to return to this region, in early 2009 he returned to Serbia, where he assumed the responsibility as Regional Property & Expansion Manager for South East Europe with complete responsibility for investments and IKEA company development in this region which includes Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania and Ukraine.
He is a Vice President of the Foreign Investors Council (FIC), a member of the Board of Directors of the Serbian Association of Managers (SAM), and Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the International School of Belgrade. He is included in the Oxford Encyclopaedia of successful people in Serbia.
