On the second day of this year's GREET Vienna conference part of the program, the first in a series of panels in Hall 1, in front of approximately hundred people present, a panel "Serbia between East and West" was held. Although this was the first in a series of panels for that day, from 9:30 am, the present visitors have confirmed that Serbia today is an attractive and unavoidable topic of all conferences that cover investment, real estate development and general economic topics.

The participants of the panel were Alexander Samonig, leading partner in Ecovis Confidas Serbia, Alexander Petritz, executive director of the Institute for Structural Development (ISD), Austria, Miodrag Gazibara, director of sales and leasing, Delta Real Estate Serbia, Srdjan Vujučić director of operations in Coreside RE / Savills Serbia.

The moderator Aleksandar Opsenica, FESTLENT director and founder of REBEC, one of this year's partners of GREET Vienna event, after the introductory presentation, has invited  Mrs. Vera Vidovic, the Director of the Serbian  Chamber of Commerce Representative offices in Austria, to address the audience. Ms. Vidovic has welcomed the present visitors, thanked the organizers for the given opportunity to inform the public about the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, which are being made to mitigate the terrible effects of the flooding that continues. She also reminded the attendees that those interested could also get information about the possibilities of providing assistance to Serbia at Serbian Lounge during the Greet Vienna event.

The panel presented the topics presenting what Serbia, as a market of great perspectives, between East and West, as the name of the panel indicated, can offer to potential investors. Comments were given regarding the legal and tax issues, topics related to the change of institutional framework and the adoption of laws that will in the fastest possible way accelerate further development real estate investments as well as  the recovery of the domestic construction industry. All segments of the real estate development were discussed.

It was concluded that the housing construction industry would for several more years to be only in the focus of local entrepreneurs and that in the retail sector numerous foreign developers will soon appear. The same situation is expected in the field of logistics and distribution development, as well as in the hotel industry. As for the development of office space, foreign developers will continue to hold primacy over domestic ones. An obvious example is the expectation of announcement of the beginning of construction of two blocks of Class A office space in total of over 50.000m2, in early July this year, on two locations in  Milutina Milankovića Boulevard in New Belgrade.

At the end of the panel present visitors were invited to a cocktail that was organized in front Serbian Lounge and where the instructions were delivered on  possibilities and ways of providing assistance to Serbia and flooded areas.
