About REBEC
Since the beginning of the new, third millenium, further unequal development in all branches of economy in the region of southeast Europe is still evident. Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary have already become members of European Union and their membership speaks enough for itself. On the other hand, former countries of SFRY, except for Slovenia, are struggling to catch up with them and become members of European family, especially in economic and political sense.
The central geographic position in southeast Europe, in the Balkans, is occupied by Serbia. This country is in transition, privatization is in its final phase, relevant legal solutions and accompanying regulations are changed on daily basis and they evolve towards the up-to-date solutions, which are acknowledged in both Europe and the rest of the world. According to all parameters, the economy of Serbia is getting the shape and contents that make it, we can freely say, closer to the economies of mid-developed European countries.
As far as real estate development is concerned, number of foreign investors in Serbia is growing. Just like in East Europe, the projects for construction of modern office space came first and they were quickly followed by numerous high-quality apartment facilities. Serbia is now in the phase when the projects for construction of retail space, reconstruction of old and construction of new hotels and mix-use facilities are more and more present on the market and recommendable for investments. Also, the number of modern halls that, in addition to production beneath their immense roofs, offer up-to-date space for logistics, distribution and reloading of large quantities of merchandise, intended for the growing consumers' mentality in Serbia, is increasing.
Because of everything mentioned above, REBEC will have its premiere this year. That is a conference, accompanied by an exhibition, whose aim will be to present the real situation on the current real estate market, with all of its advantages and disadvantages. REBEC is an idea that has been maturing for more than two years through previous launching and development of the first Serbian specialized trilingual periodic magazine. Under the name of "AG Real Estate", this magazine has already promoted real estate markets of Serbia and the region at all larger European exhibitions and congresses that promote properties and attract potential investors, such as EXPO REAL, MIPIM, MAPIC, REAL VIENNA and EXPO Italia. "AG Real Estate" has always been presenting relevant situation in Serbia and in the region in a modest, but accurate way.
What we in Serbia can be proud of today are implemented real estate projects. In developing, philosophic, investment, urbanistic, financial, legal and engineering sense, these projects are something that all large and capital cities of European countries, as well as all other countries in the developed world, would take pride in!
Organization of REBEC is the respond to the growing importance and quality of real estate market in Serbia and in the region. REBEC is our attempt to introduce real estate market in Serbia to all interested professionals. REBEC is also a guiding idea for further quality and quicker development of real estate market in Serbia. Also, REBEC is a proof that Belgrade can look like Munich, Cannes, Vienna, Milan and Barcelona and that it will, very quickly, become a regular important place to visit and not only that. As the confirmation of everything mentioned above, let us remind that Belgrade was declared the city of future of southeast Europe in March 2006 in Cannes, which was the result of the poll conducted by FDI, the specialized magazine from famous publishing family production of Financial Times. That title represented certain recommendation for starting of business in Belgrade. Thus, thanks to its surroundings that already have all necessary quality indices, REBEC will grow expectedly quickly, but also calmly and wisely enough, into one of the recommended annual events on the regional real estate market, which will be in accord with expected further positive and comprehensive development of Serbia as a country, Serbia as a society, Serbia as an economy and Serbia as an inevitable investment destination.
Because of all this and for the sake of all this, we will do our best to present our capabilities as truly as possible, so that we and all of you who express your interest in co-participating in this project, where FESTLENT, the publisher of AG Real Estate and the main initiator of organization of REBEC, will do the major part of the job, could soon, all together, share the success according to the efforts each of us invested.
